Rokytnice nad Jizerou - remains of a manor house
An integral part of the history of Rokytnice is the now almost extinct manor house, which was situated west of today's “Rokytnice” church.
The founder of this Renaissance house was Albrecht Gottfried Křinecký of Ronov, the holder of the Jilemnice estate from 1582 to 1612. Later, secret Protestant services were held here.
The manor house had the form of an enclosed courtyard. It was still used for public purposes during socialism, but was not rebuilt after the fire. Unfortunately, there is a car park on its grounds. The vaulted cellar is inaccessible and can be seen through a pair of windows in its southern wall. Only the western side of the stonework is visible to the public.
